They also create a dazzling array of non-academic outputs (reports, posters, evaluation materials, presentations etc) that would be of benefit to others. Dr Kirsty Ross (Industrial Liaison, School of Computer Science, University of St Andrews) has 20 years’ experience working in HEI across Scotland. 2) CDT recruitment panel discussion

Our expert panel will discuss best practices for attracting top talent, streamlining the application process, and fostering an inclusive environment. Key topics include broadening participation, embedding ED&I considerations, ensuring equity in selection, and addressing recruitment challenges. Whilst we have tried to cover all the main themes around recruitment, this is a very big topic and we may not cover everything. 3) Addressing the professional development needs of PRISMs

PRISMs play a pivotal role in advancing research initiatives. However, the professional challenges faced by PRISMs are often poorly reflected in the training and development opportunities offered by research institutions. But what would help PRISMs navigate the particular challenges they face and how can we best advocate for this support to be adopted by our organisations? This session will explore the innovative ways that PRISMs, their supporters and funders are addressing the gap in professional development support for PRISMs. It will provide opportunities for attendees to share what they have tried, discuss what works (and what doesn’t) and start conversations and connections with others interested in this topic.
